Germany could leverage its world-class automotive engineering into becoming Europe's leader in industrial humanoids and VW could repurpose automotive engineering teams to develop robots alongside vehicles.

For Volkswagen, the objective would not simply be to build robots, but to establish Volkswagen Robotics as a new industrial business that leverages the company's manufacturing assets, engineering talent & global quality brand.

1. Repurpose surplus Volkswagen factories Instead of closing plants, VW could convert selected facilities into manufacturing.

2. Use automotive engineering for robotics A humanoid robot is essentially an electric vehicle with arms instead of wheels.

3. Create a European robotics champion . Germany already has the industrial base for an integrated robotics platform.

4. Expand beyond automotive Volkswagen's future need not depend solely on selling cars.

6. Preserve skilled industrial employment Robotics manufacturing could absorb workers with expertise in machining, assembly, electronics, quality control & production engineering.

7. Strengthen European technological sovereignty Reducing reliance on external suppliers would improve resilience & competitiveness.

8. Build a robotics export industry VW's global manufacturing & service network could support international deployment & maintenance.

9. Establish Robotics Gigafactories Similar to battery gigafactories, Germany could develop large-scale facilities dedicated to humanoid robots.

10. Position VW as an automation company VW could reposition itself from car manufacturer to mobility, automation & a robotics technology company.
